Full-Time | Part-Time | Relief
We are a voice for the voiceless. Are you?
At Providence Vet, veterinary medicine is more than a profession — it's a calling. We believe the life of every animal is precious, and we built our entire practice around that belief. From the way we train our team to the way we communicate with clients, everything here is intentional, compassionate, and held to a genuinely gold standard.
We're growing, and we're looking for a veterinarian who wants to be part of something that actually means what it says.

Coastal living, year-round outdoor activities, a vibrant food and arts scene, and a strong military and family community — Virginia Beach consistently ranks among the best places to live in the Southeast. Wherever you're coming from, you'll find a lot to love here.
Who We Are & What We Stand For
At Providence Vet, our core values aren't posted on a wall — they're lived out in every exam room, every conversation, and every decision we make as a team. We were founded on the belief that the life of every animal is precious and that the people who care for those animals deserve a workplace that honors that calling. Everything here flows from that conviction. We don't cut corners on medicine, and we don't cut corners on culture.
Compassion as a Standard, Not a Slogan
Compassion isn't something we talk about at Providence Vet — it's the lens through which we practice medicine. We are advocates for our patients and partners to their owners, and that means showing up fully, every single day, for every single pet that walks through our doors. Our team operates with a level of thoroughness and attentiveness that our clients feel deeply, even when they can't see all that's happening behind the scenes. We hold ourselves to a gold standard because we believe that when it comes to the animals people love, only the best will do.
A Team That Trusts Each Other
One of the things our team members consistently say about working at Providence Vet is that they feel genuinely supported. We hire special people — people driven to be their best, who love animals to their core, and who can bring both heart and skill to their work every day. Then we trust them. We empower them. We believe in them. The result is a tight-knit, collaborative team where no one practices in a silo and everyone has a voice. From our Practice Manager Jess, who has been with us since 2017 and personally follows up with every surgical client, to our beloved receptionist Fran, who has been part of the Providence family for 25 years — our people are the heart of this practice.
A Commitment to Growth
We believe that the best veterinary professionals never stop learning, and we invest in the people who join our team accordingly. Whether it's supporting continuing education, encouraging the development of specialized clinical interests, or creating pathways for advancement within the practice, we are committed to helping our team members grow — not just as clinicians, but as professionals and as people. A great example of that commitment is our technician Vera, who holds a veterinary degree from Belarus and joined us in 2015 while working toward becoming a board-certified veterinarian here in the United States. That kind of growth doesn't happen by accident. It happens because we cultivate it intentionally.
Compassion Without Borders
Our dedication to animals doesn't stop at the walls of our clinic — or the borders of our country. In 2022, when war broke out in Ukraine, our team answered the call in the most hands-on way we knew how. We traveled to the region to perform surgeries, deliver critical supplies, and transport cats across the border into Poland to reunite them with their owners who had fled the conflict. It was one of the most humbling and defining experiences in the history of this practice. It is a reminder of why we do this work — because animals don't understand war, and the bond between a person and their pet doesn't pause for it either. At Providence Vet, we believe veterinary medicine is a form of service, and when the moment calls for it, we show up — wherever that may be.
Rooted in Virginia Beach
Providence Vet is not a corporate chain. We are an independently owned practice that is deeply woven into the fabric of the Virginia Beach community. Our clients are our neighbors. Their pets are patients we know by name. We take seriously our role not just as a veterinary provider, but as a community anchor — a place where people feel welcomed, heard, and cared for. Virginia Beach is a city with a strong military presence, a vibrant coastal lifestyle, and a genuine sense of community, and we are proud to serve it every day.
A Place Worth Being
We know that where you work shapes who you become as a clinician and as a person. At Providence Vet, we work hard to make this a place worth being — a place where the medicine is excellent, the culture is healthy, the team feels like family, and the work feels meaningful. If that's the kind of place you've been looking for, we'd love to meet you.
