We are currently hiring for a Nutrition and Regulatory Director at our Tavistock location.\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nPosition Overview:\r\nThe Nutrition and Regulatory Director plays a key leadership role in a small, dynamic feed company. This dual-role position is responsible for overseeing nutrition and supporting sales team and dealers, while ensuring full compliance with Canadian feed regulations, including CFIA (Canadian Food Inspection Agency) standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in animal nutrition and regulatory affairs related to livestock and/or poultry feed.\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nKey Responsibilities\r\nNutrition & Business Development\r\n\r\n\r\n\tSupervise Formulation and Nutrition.\r\n\tResearch and approve new ingredient and additive options.\r\n\tDevelop and improve existing product lines to maximize customer value as well as streamlining to improve supply chain efficiency.\r\n\tBuild and manage relationships with dealers, consultants, veterinarians, and universities.\r\n\tProvide leadership to nutrition and QC team members (if applicable) and set performance targets.\r\n\tMaintain deep understanding of customer needs, industry trends, and competitor activities.\r\n\tRepresent the company at industry events and customer meetings across Canada.\r\n\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nHACCP / Quality Control Duties\r\n\r\n\r\n\tDevelopment, maintenance and implementation of the HACCP FeedAssure Program.\r\n\tReviews industry standards and legislative changes to support revision, distribution and implementation of SOPs and current program references.\r\n\tMonitor the effectiveness of, and compliance to, these standards and regulations through internal audit procedures, provide feedback, direction for corrective actions and retraining as required.\r\n\tWork with the feed operations team to support compliance through standardized quality and food safety training.\r\n\tAssists with all regulatory, customer, CFIA and other third-party audits and inspections and subsequent follow up.\r\n\tManagement and timely reporting of major deviations and subsequent detailed Corrective Action reports.\r\n\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nRegulatory Compliance\r\n\r\n\r\n\tEnsure all feed products are compliant with CFIA regulations and the Feeds Act and Regulations.\r\n\tOversee feed registrations, ingredient approvals, and bilingual labeling requirements.\r\n\tMaintain documentation required for inspections, audits, and product traceability.\r\n\tAct as the primary liaison with CFIA and provincial regulators on regulatory issues.\r\n\tManage compliance for medicated feeds, VHPs (Veterinary Health Products), and VFD (Veterinary Feed Directive) equivalents in Canada.\r\n\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nInternal Coordination & Strategy\r\n\r\n\r\n\tWork with the nutrition/formulation team to ensure products meet nutritional and legal standards.\r\n\tCollaborate with mill and production teams to ensure regulatory and customer requirements are met.\r\n\tProvide guidance on product positioning, market expansion, and new feed development.\r\n\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nQualifications\r\n\r\n\r\n\tBachelor's degree in Agriculture, Animal Science, Feed Science, or related field.
