IDEXX continues to invest heavily in Veterinary Software as we scale our platforms and strengthen our engineering capability to meet future growth and complexity.
Auckland is home to our global Software Centre of Excellence, where we design and build cloud-based platforms used by veterinary practices worldwide. We’re looking for a Senior Full Stack Engineer who is strong in .NET and passionate about modern frontend development to join the team working on SmartFlow.
About SmartFlow
SmartFlow is our patient workflow solution that helps veterinary teams streamline clinical processes, improve visibility, and eliminate bottlenecks in busy practices. It plays a critical role in day-to-day clinic operations.
This is a hands-on senior engineering role with strong full stack ownership. You’ll contribute across the entire application — from backend services and APIs in .NET, through to modern frontend components — ensuring solutions are scalable, secure, and maintainable including leading a significant migration from AngularJS to React, while contributing across the full stack.
What you’ll be doing
Leading by example — actively contributing high-quality code across .NET and React
Driving frontend architecture and best practices, particularly through the AngularJS → React transformation
Designing and delivering scalable, secure, and maintainable solutions in a cloud-based SaaS environment
Collaborating closely with Product Managers and Practice Leads to deliver fit-for-purpose solutions
Championing pragmatic technical improvements (refactoring, debt reduction, performance, maintainability)
Influencing engineering standards, practices, and technical direction across squads
Supporting a strong engineering culture focused on quality, automation, and continuous improvement
What you’ll bring
Proven experience as a Senior Software Engineer in a SaaS or product-led environment
Strong backend capability in C# / .NET
Deep experience with modern frontend development, ideally React
Experience modernising or migrating legacy frontend frameworks (AngularJS experience beneficial)
Practical knowledge of software architecture and systems design
Experience building and operating in cloud-based environments
A strong advocate for automated testing, DevSecOps, and CI/CD practices
Experience working within Agile frameworks (Scrum, Kanban, or similar)
Ability to influence technically and culturally — mentoring others and raising engineering standards
What you can expect from us:
Structured onboarding, induction, ongoing training and transparent performance driven professional development
Rewarding salary packages including lucrative incentive schemes for all
Continuous L&D (both internal and externally)
Great tech kit
Hybrid working with a great office space to collaborate - including a gym and roof top terrace!
Coffee + Fruit + Food Truck Friday
Dog friendly office
Fully subsidized Southern Cross Health insurance
Part subsidized parking via Parkable
Career pathways that will take you places if you are willing and able
