Beechmont Pet Hospital, located in Anderson Township, is seeking an enthusiastic person for a full-time veterinary technician. Candidate must have a positive attitude, strong communication skills, have a solid customer service background, be an energetic self-starter, and have the ability to multitask. Candidate must be able to lift 50 pounds.
Duties include: Animal handling, restraint, and husbandry. Administer IV, IM, PO and SQ medication. Perform routine radiographic procedures and venipuncture procedures. The candidate must be able to do laboratory procedures including, urinalysis, heartworm tests, and other diagnostic tests. The candidate must also be able to assist with surgery, including surgery prep, monitoring, recovery, instrument prep, sterile technique, skin closure, etc. Other technical procedures include nail trims, anal gland expression, ear cleaning, urine and fecal collection, cleaning wounds, removing sutures, changing bandages, dispensing medication, client education, and admitting and discharging hospitalized patients.
