POSITION TITLE : Aquaculture Program Division Manager

PROJECT: Kootenai River Native Fish Conservation Aquaculture Program

SALARY / BENEFITS: $35/hr. after 90 days / Health, Dental, 401k, Paid Time Off

HOURS: Full-time (Weekends, Holidays as Needed)

PROBATION PERIOD: 90 days

POSITION DESCRIPTION: The Aquaculture Program Division Manager, under leadership of the Kootenai Tribal Council and supervision of Fish and Wildlife Department Director, leads the operation of two Tribal fish conservation hatcheries and contributes to habitat restoration projects to restore ESA listed Kootenai River White Sturgeon and Burbot. The Manager will be responsible for effectively coordinating the maintenance and repairs of hatchery properties and equipment. The Manager will guide staff (n=20) to annually spawn, rear, mark and release fish in the US and Canada. The Manager will coordinate, host and lead multi-agency in-person and virtual annual program review meetings. The Manager is responsible for annual budgeting, reporting and representing the Kootenai Tribe of Idaho at assigned working group meetings, serving on committees, and communicating at professional meetings. This position will require the Manager to complete all related administrative tasks in an office setting and fulfill all necessary field activities to implement assigned duties. This position routinely works in wet, cold conditions where lifting 50+ pounds is common.

REQUIREMENTS:

· Demonstrate effective writing, communication, and organizational skills

Valid Driver’s License
Ability to be insured under the Tribe’s auto insurance policy
Ability to obtain valid passport and enter Canada
Abide by the Tribe's Drug and Alcohol Policy
Bachelor's Degree related to Aquaculture/Fisheries Science
Equivalent experience may also apply in lieu of Degree
