Summary

As a Veterinary Assistant at Nob Hill Cat Clinic and Hospital, you will play an essential role in supporting our veterinary team in delivering high-quality care to our feline patients. This position is vital in maintaining the clinic's standards of excellence and ensuring a compassionate environment for both pets and their owners.

Responsibilities

Assist veterinarians during examinations and procedures with cats.
Perform animal restraint techniques to ensure safety during treatments.
Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to aseptic techniques.
Provide basic animal husbandry and care for hospitalized patients.
Prepare laboratory samples and assist with diagnostic testing as needed.
Educate pet owners on proper pet care and health maintenance for their cats.
Monitor the health and behavior of animals in the clinic, reporting any concerns to the veterinary team.
Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and maintaining patient records.

Qualifications

Previous experience as a veterinary assistant or in a similar role is preferred.
Strong understanding of veterinary terminology and animal care practices.
Proficiency in animal restraint techniques and aseptic procedures.
Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with clients and team members.
Ability to handle cats safely and compassionately, ensuring their comfort during treatments.
Basic laboratory skills are a plus but not mandatory.
Demonstrated passion for animal welfare, particularly for feline patients.

Pay: $26.00 - $28.00 per hour

Expected hours: 38 – 40 per week
