Job Title: Animal Rehabilitation Assistant

Salary: $16.25- $17.00 per hour

Description: Seeking a veterinary assistant to add to our existing team! An Animal Rehab Assistant helps the certified practitioners with laser therapy, land exercises, hydrotherapy, and acupuncture to small animals. Other responsibilities will include but are not limited to answering phone calls, greeting clients, invoicing, cash out and managing emails. As an Animal Rehab Assistant, you are part of a team that strives to cultivate relationships not just with our canine and feline friends, but with their families every day. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working with cats and dogs of all sizes.

We would like a candidate who has the following traits:

Can communicate effectively with peers and animal owners.
Has excellent written and oral communication.
Has the ability to prioritize efficiently and multitask.
Is knowledgeable of veterinary clinic procedures, terminologies and animal husbandry of hospitalized patients.
Able to exercise patience and empathy with clients.
Has the physical ability to lift up to 40-50lbs.
Demonstrates exceptional organizational skills to keep the work environment tidy and comfortable.

Requirements

Previous animal handling and/or veterinary experience (>1 year)
Team player with a positive attitude
Friendly with excellent communication skills
Strong organizational skills
Ability to work Saturdays and evenings
Basic computer skills

Responsibilities

Assist Practitioners during therapy (e.g. restraint of animals during therapies, ensure proper setup for physical exercise, dry off animals post hydrotherapy).
Keep therapy rooms clean and tidy
Assist movement impaired patients around the facility

Schedule:

8 hour shift
Day shifts
open 7 days a week
Weekend availability necessary

Experience:

Veterinary Assistant: 1 year (preferred)
Working with animals: 1 year (required)
