Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Animal Caretaker to join our team. This role involves daily interactions with animals, ensuring their health and well-being, and assisting with veterinary procedures as needed. The Animal Caretaker will play a crucial role in maintaining a safe and nurturing environment for all animals in our care.

Responsibilities

Provide daily care for animals, including feeding, grooming, and exercising.
Monitor animal health and behavior, reporting any concerns to veterinary staff.
Assist in administering medications and treatments as directed by veterinary professionals.
Maintain cleanliness of animal enclosures, kennels, and communal areas.
Support veterinary staff during examinations and procedures, including animal restraint.
Educate pet owners on proper animal care practices.
Maintain accurate records of animal care activities and health observations.
Ensure compliance with safety protocols and aseptic techniques in all interactions with animals.

Skills

Proven experience in kennel operations or animal husbandry.
Knowledge of veterinary terminology and animal physiology.
Familiarity with medication administration.
Experience in veterinary clinic settings or as a veterinary assistant is preferred.
Strong skills in animal handling, including dog handling and equine experience.
Ability to perform basic laboratory tasks related to animal care.
Excellent communication skills for interacting with pet owners and team members.
