Kennel Assistants provide support to the Patient Care Assistants and basic care for patients.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:

Responsible for basic animal husbandry for patients– water, food, walks, grooming, bathing etc.
Ensures that all kennels are cleaned, disinfected and properly maintained with clean bedding for patients.
Ensures that floors and surfaces are properly cleaned and disinfected.
Responsible for the completion of daily, weekly and monthly cleaning checklists.
Ensures that hospital supplies are maintained throughout each shift.
When needed, ensures that all supply orders are unpacked, inventory placed in designated storage areas and that all invoices are delivered appropriately.
Responsible for training new Kennel Assistants as part of the onboarding process.
When requested, ensures that exam rooms are cleaned, disinfected and properly maintained.
Understands the importance of prioritizing tasks and keeps oneself busy and productive during work shifts.
Ensures the upkeep of laundry and maintenance of related stock supply.
Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Previous experience working within an animal care setting is required.
Must have a high school diploma.
Must have a passion for animal welfare.
Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs.
