Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and organized Veterinary Receptionist to join our dedicated team. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for pet owners and their beloved animals, providing exceptional customer service while ensuring the smooth operation of our veterinary clinic. Your passion for animal care and strong communication skills will help create a welcoming environment for both clients and their pets.

Responsibilities

Greet clients and their pets with warmth and professionalism, ensuring a positive experience from the moment they enter the clinic.
Schedule appointments, manage patient records, and maintain an organized filing system.
Answer phone calls and respond to inquiries regarding services, procedures, and pet care.
Assist in the intake process by collecting necessary information about pets, including medical history and vaccination records.
Handle payments and manage billing inquiries with accuracy and efficiency.
Carryout clerical duties such as invoicing, accounts payable and accounts receivable.
Collaborate with veterinary staff to ensure seamless communication regarding patient care and treatment plans.
Maintain a clean and organized reception area while adhering to health and safety protocols.
Provide basic animal handling support during appointments as needed, including animal restraint and comfort.
Assist in inventory sales for clients on both the small and large animal side.

Qualifications

Previous experience in a veterinary or animal care setting is preferred but not required.
Strong knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal anatomy, and basic animal husbandry practices is highly desirable.
Proficiency in animal handling techniques, including dog handling and restraint methods.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with clients, staff, and animals.
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
A genuine love for animals combined with a commitment to providing high-quality care.
Knowledge of cattle vaccines and herd health protocols would be desirable.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $14.98 - $16.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
