Responsibilities

Conduct thorough examinations of animals to assess their health and diagnose any medical conditions.
Administer vaccinations and medications as needed.
Perform surgical procedures, including spaying, neutering, and other necessary operations.
Utilize aseptic techniques to ensure the safety of both animals and staff during procedures.
Provide emergency care for injured or ill animals.
Educate pet owners on proper animal care, nutrition, and preventive health measures.
Maintain accurate medical records for all patients treated.
Collaborate with veterinary technicians and support staff to ensure high-quality patient care.
Stay updated on advancements in veterinary medicine and participate in continuing education opportunities.

Skills

Strong knowledge of animal anatomy and physiology.
Proficiency in animal handling techniques, including dog handling and animal restraint methods.
Experience with animal catheterization procedures.
Familiarity with animal husbandry practices to ensure the well-being of pets in care.
Ability to perform basic veterinary procedures with precision and care.
Excellent interpersonal skills for effective communication with pet owners and team members.
Strong problem-solving abilities to address medical issues efficiently.
