Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Veterinary Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in animal care and handling, with a focus on providing high-quality support to veterinarians in the diagnosis and treatment of animals. This role requires a blend of technical skills, knowledge of veterinary practices, and a genuine love for animals. Valid RVT License in state of Missouri OR equivalent years of practice experience required.

Duties

Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and other medical procedures.
Perform laboratory tests and diagnostic imaging, including X-rays.
Administer medications, vaccinations, and treatments as prescribed by the veterinarian.
Monitor animal patients' vital signs and overall health status.
Provide animal restraint and catheterization as needed during procedures.
Maintain accurate medical records and documentation for each patient.
Communicate effectively with pet owners on proper animal care, nutrition, and post-operative instructions.
Ensure a clean and safe environment by adhering to aseptic techniques and proper sanitation protocols.
Safely handle cats and dogs utilizing low stress techniques.
Support kennel operations by caring for animals in boarding or recovery.

Qualifications

Previous veterinary technician experience is preferred; certification or equivalent years of practice experience required.
Strong knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal anatomy, physiology, and husbandry.
Experience with dog handling, training, grooming, and critical care.
Familiarity with laboratory procedures and equipment used in veterinary practices.
Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with pet owners and team members.
Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.

Pay: $40,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
