Overview Aspen Ridge Animal Hospital is a thriving small animal, family oriented hospital located in beautiful Golden, CO. We have been providing excellent veterinary care to the surrounding area for almost 20 years; offering a wide variety of services including Laser Therapy, Digital Radiology, Ultrasound, Dentistry, Surgery and more. Aspen Ridge Animal Hospital was voted Golden’s Neighborhood Best Veterinary Hospital for the past 5 years.

We are privately owned and looking for a veterinarian with excellent communication skills and practices quality medicine. We are seeking a part-time or a permanent relief veterinarian. Aspen Ridge values a doctor who understands the importance and significance of our relationships with our clients and patients. We also utilize different specialist in the area including Cardiology, Internal Medicine, Radiology and Surgery.

Aspen Ridge is located just an hour from skiing, hiking, paddle boarding, camping, fishing and any other outdoor activity you would want to enjoy. We are open 7:30 to 5:30 on week days and 8 to noon on Saturdays.

What you’ll do

Conduct thorough examinations and diagnose health issues in animals, utilizing your knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal physiology, and anatomy.
Develop and implement effective treatment plans, including surgical procedures when necessary, ensuring the best outcomes for your patients.
Provide emergency veterinary critical care and manage cases requiring immediate attention with confidence and skill.
Educate pet owners on proper animal care, husbandry practices, and preventive health measures to promote long-term wellness.
Perform routine procedures such as vaccinations, spaying/neutering, and dental prophies while maintaining aseptic technique.
Handle animals with compassion during examinations and treatments, employing effective animal restraint techniques to ensure safety for both pets and staff.
Collaborate with veterinary technicians and support staff to maintain a clean, organized clinic environment conducive to high-quality patient care.
Stay current with advancements in veterinary medicine through continuous education and training opportunities.

Basic qualifications

Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an accredited institution.
DEA license

Preferred qualifications

Experience in veterinary critical care or emergency medicine.
Proficiency in animal handling techniques for various species including dogs and cats.
