Type: 26-week contract
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 07:00 AM – 04:00 PM

Job Summary:
Provide daily care for laboratory animals in accordance with laws and regulations. Duties include cage/rack changes, food and water delivery, equipment and housing maintenance, and record keeping (per-diems, health surveillance, feed logs, temperature/humidity charts, receipt/disposition logs). Perform technical procedures as required to support research efforts.

Animal care and room sanitation
Animal health monitoring
Record keeping
Maintenance and animal husbandry

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

1 year of animal handling or lab animal sanitation equipment operations experience
Communicate animal health info, maintain records, basic computer/email skills
Knowledge of feeding, caging, space requirements, and regulatory compliance
Use cage washers and autoclaves, follow disinfection/sanitation protocols
Ability to follow instructions, work independently, lift/move up to 50 lbs, wear PPE, bend, squat, kneel, stand up to 7 hrs/day

Education, Training, and Experience:

High school/GED
Completion of Assistant Laboratory Animal Technician certification or equivalent training, plus 1–2 years of animal care experience depending on certification

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: Up to $23.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
