Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Technician to join our team part time (20-30hrs/week). The ideal candidate will have a strong enthusiasm for building the human-animal bond and have surgical nursing skills especially in dentistry roles such as radiology and anesthetic monitoring/induction. We have a strong teamwork culture where positive attitude and career advancement are promoted. You would work closely with our Veterinarians from appointment care to surgical nursing.

Duties

Assist veterinarians during examinations and surgical procedures
Perform laboratory tests, including blood work and urinalysis
Administer medications, vaccinations, and treatments as directed
Fill medications as prescribed
Monitor animal vital signs during procedures and recovery
Provide animal restraint and catheterization when necessary
Maintain accurate medical records and documentation in our electronic medical records
Educate pet owners on proper pet care via in person, by phone/text, by email
Ensure the cleanliness of the clinic, including cages, treatment area and examination rooms
Utilize aseptic techniques during procedures to prevent infection
Handle dogs and cats with gentle but safe restraint

Experience
Candidates should possess the following skills and experience:

Veterinary technician experience or relevant certification preferred
Strong knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal anatomy, physiology, and husbandry
Experience in dog handling, animal restraint, and critical care situations
Dental Procedure skills including, dental radiology, nerve blocks, induction/intubation and maintenance as well as ultrasonic scaling and polishing
Laboratory experience in performing diagnostic tests is beneficial
Ability to work effectively as part of a team while also being self-motivated and autonomous
