Responsibilities

Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and diagnostic procedures with precision and care.
Perform animal restraint and handling to ensure safety for both pets and staff during procedures.
Conduct laboratory tests, Venipuncture, prepare samples, and interpret results to aid in accurate diagnosis.
Maintain aseptic techniques during procedures such as catheterizations and wound management to prevent infections.
Administer medications, vaccinations, and treatments as prescribed by veterinarians with attention to detail.
Support pet owners with pet care instructions, including grooming, feeding, and behavioral guidance.
Operate diagnostic equipment such as X-ray machines and assist in radiographic procedures with proficiency.
Manage animal husbandry tasks including feeding, cleaning enclosures, and monitoring health status.
Assist with dental procedures by understanding dental terminology and performing dental cleanings or treatments as well as performing dental extractions and suturing extraction sites.
Maintain accurate medical records, update patient charts, and document all treatments thoroughly.
Support veterinary critical care efforts by monitoring vital signs and assisting in emergency situations.
Ensure compliance with safety protocols using proper aseptic techniques during all procedures.
Contribute to team efforts by sharing knowledge of animal physiology, anatomy, and veterinary terminology.

Qualifications

Active RVT license in the state of California
Strong knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal anatomy, physiology, and critical care practices.
Experience with laboratory testing, X-ray operation, and aseptic techniques is highly desirable.
Ability to handle dogs confidently through training and proper restraint techniques; experience with equine animals is a plus.
Excellent animal handling skills across various species including dogs, cats, and other small animals.
Demonstrated ability to work efficiently in fast-paced environments while maintaining attention to detail.

Minimum 1-3 years of clinical experience preferred

Pay: $34.00 - $35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
