Parkinson Sharefarming Pty Ltd is a family- owned dairy farming business based at Kirkstall in South West Victoria. We are seeking new staff members to assist with milkings, calving down cows, calf rearing and some general farm work. Three positions are available at our farm at Kirkstall and one position is available at our farm at Ballangeich.

Tasks include:

· Milking routines, incl herding and handling livestock, operate milking plant and equipment, actual milking procedures, clean up/ hygiene and basic maintenance;

· Identify and report equipment not operating normally;

· Work co-operatively as part of a team;

· Read and record instrument information i.e. Milk vat temperatures and cow numbers;

· Understand the principles of safe working;

· Operate and basic maintenance of farm machinery, undertake adjustments and size changes;

· Solve problems and make decisions within given guidelines;

· Know general scientific terminology and assist with processes general farming and animal husbandry tasks;

· Operate standard measuring equipment;

· Operate computerised systems using menu options;

· Calve rearing and assist with cows calving;

· Contribute to the team in a specific role, at times assisting other team members, and at times work without supervision.

Qualifications & Experience Requirements: Applicants should have at least two years' experience in practical dairy farming.

Salary $75,000-$80,000 per year + superannuation depending on qualifications and experience. Accommodation may be available on-farm.
