Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate CERTIFIED Veterinary Technician to join our team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in providing high-quality care to our animal patients. You will work closely with veterinarians and other staff members to ensure the health and well-being of animals in our care. This position requires a strong understanding of veterinary practices, animal physiology, and excellent handling skills.

Responsibilities

Assist veterinarians during examinations and surgical procedures.
Perform laboratory tests and analyze results.
Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed by the veterinarian.
Monitor animal patients’ vital signs and overall health status.
Provide nursing care for hospitalized animals, including feeding and administering fluids.
Maintain accurate medical records for each patient.
Educate pet owners on proper care, nutrition, and preventive health measures.
Ensure cleanliness and organization of the clinic or hospital environment.
Handle animals safely and effectively during examinations and procedures.

Skills
Candidates should possess a combination of the following skills:

Strong knowledge of veterinary terminology and animal anatomy.
Experience in animal handling, including dog handling techniques.
Familiarity with veterinary critical care practices.
Proficiency in laboratory procedures and aseptic techniques.
Understanding of dental terminology related to animal care.
Knowledge of animal husbandry principles.
Experience with animal catheterization and restraint methods.
Ability to perform X-ray imaging as needed.
Background in equine experience is a plus.
