Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for animal care and welfare, demonstrating the ability to assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians in providing high-quality medical care to a variety of animals. This role requires a blend of technical skills, hands-on experience, and a love for animals.

Responsibilities

Assist veterinarians in examinations, surgeries, and procedures
Provide care for animals including feeding, bathing, and exercising
Administer medications as directed by the veterinarian
Perform animal restraint during examinations and treatments
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the clinic and animal areas
Handle laboratory samples and assist with diagnostic tests
Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding their animals' health and care needs
Document patient information accurately in medical records
Support front desk operations as needed, including scheduling appointments and managing client inquiries

Experience
Candidates should possess one or more of the following experiences:

Veterinary assistant experience in a clinical setting
Kennel experience or animal husbandry skills
Veterinary technician or critical care experience
Familiarity with veterinary terminology, animal anatomy, and physiology
Proficiency in animal handling techniques including dog handling and animal restraint
Experience with medication administration and aseptic techniques
Laboratory experience related to veterinary practices

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.42 - $27.00 per hour
