Responsibilities

Conduct thorough physical examinations and diagnose medical conditions in a variety of animals, including dogs, cats, and equines.
Perform surgical procedures, including spaying, neutering, and emergency surgeries with precision and care.
Administer vaccinations, medications, and treatments to promote optimal health and prevent disease.
Utilize veterinary terminology accurately to communicate diagnoses, treatment plans, and procedures to pet owners and team members.
Handle animals safely using restraint techniques appropriate for different species and temperaments to ensure safety for both animals and staff.
Maintain detailed records of patient histories, treatments, laboratory results, and follow-up care using aseptic techniques.
Assist with laboratory testing and interpret results to support accurate diagnoses; experience with laboratory procedures is preferred.
Support pet grooming, animal husbandry, and basic animal care routines to promote overall well-being.
Use animal physiology and anatomy knowledge to guide surgical interventions and diagnostic assessments effectively.
Apply veterinary critical care experience during emergencies or intensive care situations involving critically ill animals.
Manage animal catheterization procedures with precision while adhering to aseptic protocols in critical situations.
Demonstrate proficiency in animal handling across different species, including equine experience when applicable.
Round to Veterinarian taking over shift.
Keep owner updated on patient status.

Skills

Extensive veterinary experience with a strong foundation in veterinary terminology and animal physiology.
Proven ability in animal restraint, handling, and husbandry across multiple species including dogs and horses.
Skilled in performing veterinary critical care procedures with confidence during emergencies.
Knowledge of laboratory techniques relevant to veterinary diagnostics; laboratory experience is advantageous.
Familiarity with pet grooming practices and pet care routines to support overall animal health.
Expertise in animal anatomy knowledge necessary for surgical procedures and diagnostics.
