Job Summary
Join our veterinary team as an Equine Veterinary Assistant and become a vital part of providing exceptional animal care! Duties and Ideal Qualities

Assist with animal restraint and handling to ensure safety for both animals, clients and staff during examinations and procedures
Find joy in working an inconsistent schedule, in the heat, with patients who would prefer to not be treated
Medication administration, sample collection, and laboratory procedures
Maintain cleanliness and aseptic techniques in surgical, treatment and office areas
Help with pet care activities such as feeding, medicating and monitoring animal behavior
Work well with a team, but also enjoy figuring things out on your own
Manage front desk responsibilities including appointment scheduling, client check-ins, and answering phone inquiries
Capable of driving a full size truck safely, including backing in
Support emergency critical care situations by preparing equipment, assisting with treatments, and documenting procedures accurately

Requirements

Previous horse handling background required; eagerness to learn new skills is essential
Knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal physiology, anatomy, and basic pet care practices are helpful
Experience with medication administration is a plus
Familiarity with laboratory procedures and aseptic techniques will be advantageous
Strong communication skills for interacting effectively with clients and team members
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
Willingness to perform physically demanding tasks such as diffcult animal restraint or equipment regularly
