My name is Michael Wilson, I am the Business Unit Director at Elanco Animal Health Australia (Formerly Bayer).
I bring with me over 20 years of commercial and marketing experience across several diverse categories and multiple distribution channels, globally and locally, and a proven track record of driving growth and fostering strategic relationships.
I am now looking for a new opportunity where I can leverage my leadership capabilities and commercial acumen to replicate the same successes I have achieved in previous roles.
In my current role as Business Unit Director at Elanco Australia, I transformed a dysfunctional unit into a high-performing team that achieved full-year sales targets for the first time in five years. I achieved this by implementing consumer and customer-centric marketing strategies, enhancing employee engagement, and securing strategic partnerships with major industry players such Petbarn, Petstock and Vet Partners.
Prior to Elanco, I held significant roles at Bayer, including Global Brand Manager for Seresto, where I drove sales to $500 million and led a global repositioning of the brand. My time at Mars Food, Sanitarium and Danone Nutricia enabled me to establish my skills and capabilities in brand management, innovation, and category leadership. These experiences have equipped me with a deep understanding of both FMCG and healthcare sectors, particularly in developing and executing strategies based on shopper and customer buying data and insights.
I have an interest in mentoring, I have strong multitasking abilities, I am comfort in high-pressure environments and can manage large workloads.
My leadership style is authentic, engaging, and highly inclusive, and I am adept at leading large cross functional teams in complex environments and collaborating with senior management to drive change and alignment. I am a quick learner, comfortable dealing with ambiguity, and efficient in managing a high workload while delivering high-quality results.
Ultimately, I am looking for a senior marketing role (Marketing Director, Head of Marketing), an entry level GM role or a Business Unit Leadership position.
