Farmwork Job Description

A farm couple/caretaker is needed to support everyday activities on a 1,300-acre hunting ranch. This hands-on position requires caring for dogs and livestock, maintaining equipment, and performing routine farm maintenance. Ideal candidates are physically fit, have basic mechanical knowledge, must love dogs, and enjoy working outdoors year-round. As well as regular upkeep is required for homes onsite.

Job Responsibilities

Operates and maintains vehicles and farm equipment.
Capable of performing general handyman tasks.
Experience and knowledge of maintenance and repair of farming equipment.
Property maintenance includes mowing, lawn care, discing, fence, and road repairs.
Responsible for the welfare of animals on the farm, including feeding, watering, and daily care for livestock. Examples include cows, goats, chickens, donkeys, and dogs.
Maintaining animal dwelling areas such as stables, dog kennels, barns, and poultry cages daily.
Monitors animal health and identifies sick or wounded animals. Capable of administering drugs and assisting with veterinary procedures are required skills.
Strong initiative, communication, adaptability, and problem-solving skills.

Job Skills & Qualifications:

Prior ranch, farm, or livestock experience preferred.
Knowledge of Animal health
Ability to lift up to 50lbs and perform physically demanding tasks
Comfortable working independently
Basic mechanical, welding, or carpentry skills a plus
Must pass a background check and be eligible to work in the U.S.
Must be dependable, honest, and have a strong work ethic
