Mercy Veterinary Hospital is a privately owned, established 5-6 doctor, rapidly growing, 15,000sq ft, state of the art small animal Veterinary hospital and luxury boarding facility located in Leander, TX.
Mercy Veterinary Hospital is looking for dedicated full, part time and Saturday veterinarians eager to grow in a busy, growing hospital environment, practicing the highest standard of care, with digital radiography, full in-house laboratory, state of the art surgical suite, diagnostics and more!
The primary focus of this position will be the preventative care, surgery and dentistry of patients as well as educating our clients about proper ongoing pet care. The ideal candidate for this position will have a strong work ethic, strong communication skills and the desire to work well with both animals and people.

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinarian to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of animal physiology and veterinary practices, with a commitment to providing high-quality care to a diverse range of animals. This role involves diagnosing and treating various medical conditions, performing surgeries, and educating pet owners on proper animal care.
Duties
- Conduct thorough examinations of animals to assess their health and diagnose any medical conditions.
- Administer vaccinations and medications as required.
- Perform surgical procedures using aseptic techniques to ensure the safety and health of the animals.
- Utilize animal catheterization techniques when necessary for treatment or diagnostic purposes.
- Provide critical care for animals in emergency situations, ensuring timely and effective interventions.
- Maintain accurate medical records using veterinary terminology for documentation of treatments and procedures.
- Educate pet owners on proper animal husbandry, nutrition, and general care practices.
- Handle various species with expertise, including dogs, cats, and equine, ensuring their comfort and safety during examinations and treatments.
- Collaborate with veterinary technicians and support staff to ensure the smooth operation of the clinic.
Qualifications
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an accredited institution.
- Valid veterinary license to practice in the state of employment.
- Strong knowledge of animal physiology, anatomy, and behavior.
- Proficiency in aseptic technique and animal handling skills.
- Experience in veterinary critical care is preferred but not required.
- Familiarity with veterinary terminology is essential for effective communication within the team and with clients.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to build rapport with clients and their pets.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
