Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for animal care and welfare, along with the technical skills necessary to assist veterinarians in diagnosing and treating a variety of animals. This role is essential in providing high-quality veterinary services and ensuring the well-being of our patients.
Duties
- Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and procedures.
- Perform animal handling and restraint techniques to ensure safety for both pets and staff.
- Conduct laboratory tests, including blood work and urinalysis, to aid in diagnosis.
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation for each patient.
- Administer medications, vaccinations, and treatments as prescribed by the veterinarian.
- Provide education to pet owners on animal husbandry, nutrition, and preventive care.
- Assist with dental cleanings and familiarize yourself with dental terminology.
- Support grooming services as needed, ensuring pets are clean and comfortable.
- Monitor vital signs and overall health of animals during procedures or recovery
Qualifications
- Certification or degree in Veterinary Technology is preferred; experience in a veterinary setting is highly valued.
- Strong knowledge of animal physiology, anatomy, and common diseases.
- Familiarity with animal catheterization techniques is a plus.
- Experience in laboratory procedures related to veterinary medicine is beneficial.
- Proficiency in animal handling skills to ensure safe interactions with various species.
- Ability to work effectively within a team environment while demonstrating excellent communication skills.
- A genuine love for animals and commitment to their care and welfare.
- Knowledge of basic and commonly used pharmaceuticals.

Pay: $20.00 - $34.00 per hour
