Job Summary
Colorado Veterinary Cardiology is looking for a veterinary assistant / technician! We are looking for someone excited to learn, work hard and enjoy a positive working atmosphere. We are a unique specialty practice that requires a flexible individual with an excellent attitude. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care and welfare, providing support to clients and veterinarians and ensuring the comfort and health of our patients. This role involves a variety of tasks in a fast-paced environment, requiring both technical skills and a love for animals.

Duties

Assist veterinarians during examinations and procedures, ensuring the safety and comfort of animals.
Perform animal handling and restraint techniques to facilitate examinations and treatments.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the clinic, including kennels and treatment areas.
Assist with laboratory tests, including blood draws, urinalysis, and other diagnostic procedures.
Provide basic grooming services as needed, including bathing and nail trimming.
Educate pet owners on proper medication administration, etc.
Maintain accurate medical records and ensure proper documentation of treatments.

Requirements

Previous veterinary experience or training is preferred; experience in veterinary critical care is a plus.
Knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal anatomy, physiology, and husbandry practices.
Familiarity with laboratory procedures.
Experience with dog handling, animal restraint, catheterization, and X-ray processes is required.
Strong communication skills to effectively interact with pet owners and team members.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
A genuine love for animals and commitment to their welfare is essential.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $24.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
