Ten Lives Club is a non-profit cat shelter in Western New York with 19 additional adoption locations. Our organization is dedicated to reducing the number of cats euthanized each year due to overpopulation and lack of space in shelters. Since our creation in 2001, we have saved the lives of or assisted with over 50,000 cats through rescue and our adoption program. Our location cares for strays, surrenders and adoptions. Also, we offer a community clinic for affordable spay/neuters, and other veterinary care services. We are looking for a motivated team player who has experience in the veterinary reception field.
Key Factors for the Ideal Candidate:
· MUST like cats and have NO cat allergies.
· Must be extremely comfortable in a fast-paced work environment while still maintaining daily important responsibilities and meeting tight deadlines.
· Must take the initiative.
· Must be a strong multi-tasker and problem solver, who can handle working a variety of different settings.
· Must have adequate interpersonal skills, positive and upbeat attitude.
· Prior Veterinary reception experience is a plus.
· Must be knowledgeable on clerical data entry on web-based shelter software programs.
· Must have knowledge of Micro Soft software.
Daily Duties and Responsibilities:
· Customer service is the primary responsibility of this role.
· Maintain the visual appeal of the shelter reception area.
· Ensure everyone entering is being greeted, welcomed and assisted.
· Manage telephone ensuring all calls are answered and forwarding calls to the appropriate destination. Providing information to the public about our services, our location, taking messages and scheduling adoption appointments.
· Processing adoptions and surrenders, assisting with paperwork and ensuring the documents are inputted into our shelter software accurately.
· Assist in cleaning, prepping and sanitizing kennels for incoming cats.
· Assist Executive Director with clerical work
Job Specifics:
· Parttime position 27 hours
· Pay Range: $16.00 – $17.00 hourly (commensurate with experience)
· Schedule: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday Noon to 5:30pm
· Saturday, is 11:00am to 4:00pm
