If you are a team player who enjoys contributing to a supportive and professional workplace, we invite you to apply for this opportunity!\r\n\r\n\r\nThe Role \r\nThe Accounting Administrator plays an important role in improving workflow efficiency and accuracy in day-to-day financial operations by managing financial transactions related to accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general financial processes. Key responsibilities include accurately processing invoices and payments, maintaining financial documentation, preparing reconciliations, and assisting with general ledger entries and internal claims, under the guidance of the Senior Accountant.\r\n\r\n\r\nYour day-to-day\r\n\r\n\r\n\tPerform day-to-day accounts payable and receivable functions, including invoice processing, performing payment runs, and maintaining accurate financial records in accordance with internal policies, payment terms and timelines.\r\n\tManage the setup and maintenance of vendor accounts, monitor payment terms for each, and communicate with each vendor as needed to resolve discrepancies and ensure efficient payment cycles.\r\n\tManage the SAP Concur Invoice and Expense system, and the corporate credit card program, providing staff training, support, troubleshooting, and ensuring compliance with organizational policies.\r\n\tPrepare journal entries and support month/year-end Close by creating journal entries with supporting documentation, assist with accruals, and contribute to monthly and year-end closing processes by ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.\r\n\tComplete regular reconciliations of accounts payable, receivable, bank accounts, and other general ledger balances; investigate discrepancies and maintain up-to-date financial records.\r\n\tSupport Cash Management Activities through the Recording and reconciliation of bank transactions, processing internal fund transfers, and monitoring daily cash balances to support treasury activities and liquidity planning.\r\n\tAssist with the preparation of supporting schedules and documentation for annual audits, liaise with auditors, and help implement and maintain effective internal financial controls and processes.\r\n\tProvide cross-functional support through collaboration with other departments to address financial inquiries and provide backup coverage for Finance/Office Assistant or Fee Collection & Reporting Specialist as needed.\r\n\tContribute to process improvements that enhance financial workflow, accuracy, and service to internal stakeholders.\r\n\tContribute to finance or administrative-related special projects, including system upgrades, process automation, and troubleshooting. \r\n\tDevelop and maintain effective working relationships within the team and across all departments.\r\n\tPerforms other duties, as required.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nWhat you will Bring\r\nEducation & Experience\r\n\r\n\r\n\tDiploma or Certificate in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.\r\n\t1–3 years of experience in a similar accounting role.\r\n\tExperience with accounts payable/receivable, reconciliations, and ERP systems (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central).\r\n\tExperience with SAP Concur, Payworks, JET Reports, or Power BI is an asset.\r\n\tExperience working in agriculture or non-profit settings is an asset.\r\n\tChartered Professional Accounting Administrator (CPA) or working towards is considered an asset.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nKnowledge, Skills & Abilities\r\n\r\n\r\n\tUnderstanding of accounting principles and proven ability to process transactions, reconciliations, and general ledger functions.\r\n\tAbility to ensure data entry and transaction processing accuracy through strong attention to detail.\r\n\tDemonstrated ability to communicate effectively—both verbally and in writing—with internal and external stakeholders to educate, provide support, and resolve issues.\r\n\tHighly organized and skilled in time management to ensure tasks are completed efficiently and deadlines are consistently met.\r\n\tFamiliarity and comfort with digital systems and tools for ease of use and the ability to troubleshoot and guide staff through system issues.\r\n\tHigh level of professionalism and confidentiality.\r\n\tCollaborative mindset and willingness to work independently and as part of a team.\r\n\tIntermediate Microsoft Excel skills\r\n\tProficiency with MS Office 365 (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint etc.).\r\n\tSound judgment, critical thinking, and integrity in all actions.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nWhat we offer\r\nGrain Farmers of Ontario is a team of passionate, hardworking people focused on using teamwork and collaboration to bring the greatest value to our farmer-members.
