We are hiring an
Assistant Plant/Bean Elevator Manager at our edible dry bean elevator in
Terry, MT. In this hands-on role, you’ll lead a small but impactful team of one full-time employee and two seasonal staff during harvest and shipping. You’ll work closely with the Regional Manager to oversee all aspects of plant operations, including scheduling, production, grading beans, maintenance, and ensuring both employee and food safety. You’ll also have the opportunity to work directly with growers when picking up seed or delivering beans, building strong relationships along the way.

What you will do.... - Lead and supervise a small team, including one full-time and seasonal employees during harvest and shipping seasons
- Oversee day-to-day plant operations such as scheduling, production, quality control, and maintenance
- Collaborate with the Regional Manager to meet production goals and maximize plant efficiency
- Inspect, sort, and grade beans according to established quality standards and customer specifications
- Set schedules and maintain records for preventative maintenance for all equipment and systems
- Ensure compliance with employee safety and food safety standards by attending monthly safety meetings
- Manage receiving, storage, cleaning, and shipping of dry beans to meet customer and grower requirements
- Work directly with growers during seed pickup and bean delivery, providing excellent service and support
- Monitor inventory levels and maintain accurate records of product movement and storage
- Implement and uphold good manufacturing practices (GMPs) and support HACCP or related food safety programs
- Develop and maintain cohesiveness and teamwork of key personnel to accomplish goals, and share those goals with employees and encourage engagement
- Identify process improvements to enhance quality, reduce downtime, and maintain operational consistency
What you will bring... - Mechanically inclined with the ability to troubleshoot, maintain, and coordinate repairs on plant equipment
- Experience managing production schedules, quality control, and operational efficiency
- Ability to uphold and enforce safety standards for both employees and food products
- Problem-solving mindset with the ability to adapt during busy harvest and shipping seasons
- Knowledge of agricultural operations or food processing is a plus
- Food safety knowledge and/or experience with HACCP, GMPs, or related programs preferred, but not required
