Welcome to Wentworth Greenhouses! We are a retail greenhouse in southern New Hampshire where we grow beautiful plants year-round with a large selection of seasonal plants, house plants, perennials, vegetable plants, herbs, and much more. We’re hiring an Assistant Head Grower to join our team in Rollinsford, New Hampshire (About 10 miles North of Portsmouth, NH). In this role you will be overseeing the care of finished materials including annuals, Poinsettias, and Fall Mums.
We are a third-generation family-owned and operated business and we pride ourselves on providing a true family-like atmosphere for our entire team. Many of our employees have been part of our team for several years.

What you will be doing:
- Nurture crops with careful care and observation to ensure the highest quality.
- Managing work crews with a focus on efficiency and continual improvement of performance.
- Maintaining IPM in relation to pest populations.
- Apply Growth Regulators and pesticides to maintain the quality of crops.
- Produce superior saleable crops that is finished on schedule.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation for both staff and facility.
- Reduce waste by creating efficient systems for staff and facilities.
This job is for you if you have:
- Associate of science degree in Horticulture.
- 2 years of prior horticulture, greenhouse, or other relatable experience.
- Pesticide Applicator license preferred but not required.
- Organized and detail oriented.
- Good communication skills both written and oral.
- Excellent work ethic with a ‘can-do’ attitude.
- Willing to learn and adapt new systems and procedures.
- Ability to work well in a team setting.
