Diesel Truck Mechanic for Howe, IN to inspect, maintain and repair class 8 semi-trucks and trailers.

In this role you will be working on a fleet of 30+ semi-trucks and 55 trailers including belted bottom trailers and van trailers. You would be inspecting, conducting repairs, following DOT compliance and maintaining accurate repair documentation. We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work and maintains a clean and organized area.
Key Responsibilities: - Inspect, diagnose, and repair mechanical and electrical systems on heavy-duty trucks and trailers, including tank trailers
- Perform preventive maintenance (PM) services, DOT inspections, and complete all required documentation
- Conduct brake jobs, replace brake chambers, perform wheel seal replacements, and adjust wheel ends
- Examine trailer components for damage, wear, structural deficiencies, leaks, and malfunctioning safety devices
- Perform diagnostics and repairs on transmissions, air brake systems, hydraulics, and other mechanical systems
- Accurately complete DOT forms, work orders, and parts documentation
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in accordance with company policies and safety regulations
- Support fleet reliability by conducting routine performance checks and addressing issues proactively
- Ensure all repairs and maintenance are performed in a timely, efficient, and professional manner
