Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and highly organized Aquaculture Specialist to oversee daily operations across our aquaculture facility. The role requires a deep understanding of saltwater and reef aquarium systems, and a passion for marine conservation and aquaculture.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily facility operations, ensuring smooth workflow and adherence to production schedules.
- Daily duties include cleaning/maintenance (50%), feeding/caring for species (30%), shipping orders (10%), Misc (10%)
- Collaborate with the aquaculture team to optimize breeding, grow-out, and harvesting processes.
- Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) to improve efficiency, quality, and safety.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory, environmental, and animal welfare standards.
- Supervise, train, and mentor staff, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Monitor operational budgets, track expenses, and support financial planning initiatives.
- Coordinate logistics and distribution of marine organisms to clients, wholesalers, and restoration partners.
- Support strategic initiatives, including facility expansion, sustainability programs, and research collaborations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marine Biology, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in keeping saltwater or reef aquariums
- Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
- Knowledge of aquaculture systems, husbandry practices, and sustainability standards strongly preferred.
- Proficiency in project management and operational software tools.

Pay: $47,568.75 - $57,287.10 per year
