Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinarian to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in veterinary medicine, with a focus on providing exceptional care to a small animals as well as food animals and horses. This role involves diagnosing and treating medical conditions, performing surgeries, and ensuring the well-being of pets and farm animals under our care. The Veterinarian will work collaboratively with a skilled team of veterinary technicians and support staff to deliver high-quality veterinary services.
Duties
- Conduct thorough examinations of animals to assess their health and diagnose conditions
- Develop treatment plans and administer appropriate medications or therapies
- Perform surgical procedures as needed, adhering to aseptic techniques
- Provide emergency care and critical care for animals in need
- Utilize veterinary terminology effectively when communicating with staff and clients
- Maintain accurate medical records for all patients treated
- Educate pet and farm animal owners on proper animal care, nutrition, and preventive health measures
- Handle and restrain animals safely during examinations and procedures
- Collaborate with veterinary technicians in the administration of treatments and procedures
- Stay updated on advancements in veterinary medicine and participate in continuing education
Skills
- Veterinary critical care experience is highly desirable
- Experience with livestock medicine , procedures, and surgery is very desirable.
- Proficient in animal restraint techniques for safe handling during examinations
- Comprehensive veterinary experience with a focus on animal care and husbandry
- Strong knowledge of animal physiology, anatomy, and common veterinary terminology
- Familiarity with laboratory procedures and diagnostics relevant to veterinary practice
- Experience with equine medicine is a plus but not required .
- Level 2 USDA - APHIS accredited
- Excellent communication skills to effectively educate pet owners about their animals' health needs
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment while also being self-motivated
