Overview
DAWS is looking for a dedicated and compassionate Veterinarian to join our team on a part-time basis, two, and occasionally three, days per week. This is more than a job, it’s an opportunity to be part of lifesaving work in our clinic, where every day brings both purpose and camaraderie in a fun, passionate atmosphere. As a vital member of our clinic team, you’ll help drive our transformative rescue-to-adoption process, giving animals the chance to move from hardship to a loving home. You’ll also play a key role in providing low-cost spay and neuter services to a community that needs it most!

The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for animal welfare and a commitment to providing high-quality veterinary care. As a Veterinarian with us, you’ll not only diagnose, treat, and prevent disease, you’ll help create brighter futures for animals and the people who care for them.

Duties

Conduct thorough examinations of animals to assess their health status.
Diagnose and treat various medical conditions and injuries in pets.
Perform surgical procedures, including spaying, neutering, and other necessary operations.
Administer vaccinations and medications to animals.
Provide guidance to pet owners on proper animal care, nutrition, and behavior.
Maintain accurate medical records for each patient.
Collaborate with veterinary technicians and support staff to ensure efficient clinic operations.
Stay updated on advancements in veterinary medicine and participate in continuing education opportunities.

Requirements

Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an accredited institution.
Valid veterinary license to practice in the state.
Strong skills in animal handling, restraint, and care.
Experience with animal husbandry practices is preferred.
Proficiency in veterinary critical care techniques and procedures.
Knowledge of animal physiology and behavior is essential.
Excellent communication skills for interacting with pet owners and team members.
Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
