This role requires strong market knowledge, risk management skills, and the ability to build relationships with both producers and international customers. The successful candidate will drive profitability while ensuring supply chain compliance and customer satisfaction.\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nKey Responsibilities\r\n\r\n\r\n\tProcurement & Origination\r\n\r\n\t\r\n\t\tSource and contract Identity Preserved soybeans from producers and elevators across Ontario.\r\n\t\tMaintain and expand grower relationships to ensure consistent quality and volume.\r\n\t\tNegotiate competitive purchase contracts aligned with market conditions.\r\n\t\r\n\t\r\n\tExport Sales & Marketing\r\n\t\r\n\t\tMarket and sell IP soybeans to global customers, with a focus on premium Asian markets.\r\n\t\tDevelop and manage export programs, including shipping logistics, documentation, and quality assurance.\r\n\t\tMonitor customer requirements and ensure contract execution in full compliance with specifications.\r\n\t\r\n\t\r\n\tRisk Management & Market Analysis\r\n\t\r\n\t\tMonitor global soybean markets, currency trends, and freight conditions.\r\n\t\tUtilize futures, options, and basis trading to manage price risk exposure.\r\n\t\tProvide market insights to management and internal teams.\r\n\t\r\n\t\r\n\tCompliance & Quality Assurance\r\n\t\r\n\t\tEnsure adherence to non-GMO and IP protocols throughout the supply chain.\r\n\t\tWork closely with quality control, logistics, and documentation teams to meet export standards.\r\n\t\tOversee audits and certifications as required by international customers.\r\n\t\r\n\t\r\n\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nQualifications\r\n\r\n\r\n\tPost Secondary Education in Agriculture, Business, Economics, or related field (or equivalent experience).\r\n\t3–5+ years’ experience in grain merchandising, trading, or export markets.\r\n\tStrong understanding of commodity markets, risk management, and hedging strategies.\r\n\tProven ability to negotiate and manage international trade contracts.\r\n\tWillingness to travel frequently to maintain and develop relationships with customers (locally and internationally)\r\n\tExcellent relationship-building and communication skills.\r\n\tStrong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple contracts and deadlines.\r\n\tProficiency with grain trading platforms, Microsoft Office, and ERP systems.\r\n\tKnowledge of export documentation, logistics, and IP certification protocols an asset.\r\n\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nWhy Join LAC?\r\n\r\n\r\n\tWork with a highly respected, growing company in the Ontario grain industry.\r\n\tOpportunity to manage premium export markets and high-value products.\r\n\tCompetitive compensation package including benefits and performance incentives.\r\n\tCollaborative and entrepreneurial work environment with room for career growth\r\n\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nInterested in joining our Team?
