To support this mission, Syngenta's Product Technology and Engineering team is seeking a Formulation Engineer in Greensboro, NC.
This role will support the development and scale-up of formulated products from lab to commercial manufacturing. Working with our experienced team, you'll assist in process optimization, quality control, and efficiency improvements across our manufacturing operations. This role offers hands-on experience in both existing and new technologies, while learning to evaluate equipment andcontribute to process improvements. You'll gain valuable exposure to formulation development, manufacturing processes, and quality standards as you help implement technical solutions under the guidance of senior team members.
Accountabilities:
- Maintain strict adherence to safety protocols, compliance requirements, and standard operating procedures while promoting a culture of safety accountability.
- Execute formulation scale-up from laboratory to full-scale manufacturing, ensuring process safety and environmental considerations are addressed.
- Troubleshoot manufacturing process issues and provide technical solutions while supporting inter-site technology transfers.
- Design and document pilot plant and full-scale manufacturing trials, including preparation of technical reports and operating procedures.
- Apply formulation engineering expertise to improve capacity, quality, and cost efficiency at manufacturing sites.
- Conduct experimental work using Design of Experiments (DoE) methodology for process optimization and scale-up activities.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining effective prioritization and meeting deadlines.

Qualifications
Please note: this position is 100% onsite in Greensboro, NC with about 25% travel domestically and internationally.
- B.S. in Engineering with 2+ years of experience in formulation processing or manufacturing.
- Experience with process risk assessment and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Foundation of project management and prioritization skills.
- Understanding of formulation scale-up processes and lifecycle management.
- Strong safety mindset and commitment to HSE standards.
- Experience working in cross-functional teams and managing multiple stakeholders.
- Strong technical communication skills and attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ability to identify and implement innovative processing solutions.
