Location: Valley Animal Hospital at the Conway Area Humane Society
About Us: Valley Animal Hospital is a vet hospital that opened at the Conway Area Humane Society in October 2024. This is a unique position as you will be able to work with both public and shelter animals. Our hospital strives to make vet care more accessible to every pet owner. We have full in-house imaging and laboratory, surgical, wellness, and illness services. We are looking for an expereinced, friendly, organized, and dedicated individual to join our team as a Veterinary Receptionist.
Position: Veterinary Receptionist
Type: Full-Time or Part-Time
Hours: 8 am - 4 pm, Monday-Friday. Hours may vary based on appointments.
Salary: Starting pay is $16-$18+ an hour, depending on experience.

Job Responsibilities:
- Greet clients and their pets with a warm, professional demeanor.
- Answer phone calls and schedule appointments efficiently.
- Manage client records and maintain accurate patient information.
- Handle check-ins and check-outs, process payments, and manage billing.
- Assist with inventory management.
- Call other hospitals for patient records or to coordinate specialty appointments.
- Assist owners with payment options such as Care Credit or Varidi.
- Provide information about services, products, and general pet care advice.
- Coordinate with veterinary staff to ensure smooth workflow and patient care.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the front desk area.
- Assist with managing medical records for shelter animals.
- Some light vet assisting duties may include holding an animal, helping tidy animal cages, and anesthesia recovery.
Qualifications:
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required; additional education or certification in veterinary administration is a plus.
- Previous experience in a veterinary or healthcare setting is preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in using computer systems and veterinary software.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and work effectively under pressure.
- Compassion for animals and a genuine desire to support pet owners.
