Director of Live Operations in Selinsgrove, PA.
We are a leading protein provider to grocery and specialty stores, as well as many restaurants, including fine dining, fast casual, and quick service. Our portfolio of brands includes Empire Kosher®, Freebird®, and Kosher Valley processing over 35 million chickens and turkeys a year.
We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Director of Live Operations - Poultry to lead all aspects of live production, including breeder farms, hatcheries, contract growers, feed manufacturing and delivery, and flock health programs. 50% of your time will be out meeting with contract producers within a 2-hour radius, maintaining relationships while the other 50% will be team management, driving efficiency, and operational analysis as we continue to expand. This role is critical in ensuring our live operations deliver healthy, high-performing birds while maintaining the highest standards of welfare, biosecurity, and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage breeder, hatchery, and grow-out operations
- Partner with growers and service technicians to ensure flock health and performance
- Drive production results for livability, feed conversion, weight, and yield
- Ensure compliance with animal welfare, biosecurity, and food safety standards
- Analyze flock performance data and implement continuous improvement strategies
- Develop, coach, and lead live operations managers and teams
- Manage live production budgets and costs
- Ensure live supply chain to meet processing and sales demand
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Poultry Science, Animal Science, Agriculture, or related field
- Proven experience in leadership experience in poultry live production (breeder, hatchery, and grow-out)
- Strong knowledge of flock health, nutrition, and biosecurity
- Proven ability to lead field operations and partner with contract growers
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
