Role
This crucial role will be responsible for providing technical expertise and guidance on crop management to optimise plant health, yield, and quality across berry farms. It will support propagation, nursery, and crop production teams by delivering evidence-based agronomic strategies in line with company goals and financial targets.
Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and monitor crop nutrition, irrigation, and pest and disease management programs Conduct regular field assessments to identify crop health issues and recommend timely corrective actions.
- Advise on propagation schedules, seedling quality, and tissue culture performanc
- Monitor nursery pest and disease risks, ensuring early intervention and control measures
- Design and oversee on-farm trials for new varieties, inputs, and growing techniques
- Provide technical advice to support post-harvest quality standards
- Ensure all agronomic practices comply with ChemCert standards, WHS, environmental, and food safety regulations
Requirements]
- Tertiary qualification in Agronomy, Agricultural Science, Horticulture, or a related field.
- Minimum 3- 5 years' experience in agronomy, preferably in horticulture or berries.
- Demonstrated expertise in crop nutrition, irrigation, pest and disease management.
- ChemCert Accreditation (required or willingness to obtain).
- Strong analytical skills with experience interpreting soil, water, and plant tissue data.
- Excellent problem-solving ability and a proactive approach to crop challenges.
Remuneration and Location
This is a n entry-level role, with an appropriate remuneration package. Location is Caboolture, Queensland.
