Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinarian to join our team. We are looking for an experienced veterinarian with at least 5+ years of clinical experience who would like to work 2-4 days per week. The applicant will need to be capable handling sole charge. This role involves diagnosing and treating illnesses, performing surgeries, patient follow up and occasional on call (roughly once weekly).
For the correct candidate, an additional profit sharing model would be structured.
We are a privately owned, non corporate practice.
Our practice functions as a day hospital, with shared on call with the rest of the veterinary practices on the Sunshine Coast. Our hospital is fully equipped (idexx lab, ultrasound, digital dental radiography, digital radiography). We routinely perform orthopedic surgery such as TPLOs, MPLs , fractures etc.
The sunshine coast is a 40 minute ferry to Vancouver, short walks to beaches, forest. Haven for nature lovers. A small community environment. Looking to get out of the city and live in a serene, breathtaking part of the world?
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough examinations of animals to assess their health and diagnose any conditions.
- Develop treatment plans that may include medications, surgeries, or other therapies.
- Perform surgical procedures as needed, ensuring the highest standards of care and safety. The veterinarian should be competent in spays, neuters, dental surgery and routine soft tissue surgery.
- Maintain accurate medical records for each patient, documenting treatments and progress.
- Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding their animals' health and provide guidance on preventive care.
- Flowing with our team - Friendly collabration with veterinary technicians and support staff.
Experience
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an accredited veterinary school is required. We are only looking for candidates who are accredited for North America.
- Previous experience of 5+ years, ideally in North America.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with clients and their pets.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $120,000.00-$240,000.00 per year
Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
