Pet Allergy & Dermatology Specialists/Lehigh Valley Veterinary Dermatology is a referral specialty facility located in Allentown, PA. We are growing and looking for a part-time (with potential growth to full-time for the right candidate), compassionate, hard-working, team-oriented client services support staff member to join our team. We have a positive, family atmosphere, low staff turnover, and are focused on patient care and client education. Our full-time employees work a 4-day work week with no weekends with only one possible evening per week. Veterinary front desk/client support veterinary experience is required (preferably at least 5 years), but no dermatology specific experience is necessary; the candidate should to very organized, detail oriented, proactive, and have a positive attitude, excellent customer service skills, communication, and professionalism.
Leadership/supervisory/office management experience is a plus. Additional hours are available for the right candidate with veterinary technician experience.

Veterinary Front Desk Duties Include, but are not limited to:
- Appointments – scheduling and confirming appointments, client greeting and checking in the patient, obtaining patient histories, assisting with obtaining and preparing diagnostic samples including cytologies, assist with examinations, assist with filling prescriptions, invoice and checking out client, ensure a smooth and timely flow of outpatient appointments from the check-in to the discharge
- Organization and maintenance of clinic schedule including looking ahead for schedule conflicts and filling open appointments
- Maintaining accurate medical records including recording of all pertinent medical, client, and case related information in the patient record with appropriate grammar, terms, and accurate information.
- Communicate with and build relationships with referring veterinarians and veterinary staff. Calling for patient records and lab results
- Organization and maintenance of appointment cancellation list
- Client education and communication - obtain patient updates, properly review and relay information, answer client questions thoroughly and accurately
- Assist with inventory control, ordering, unpacking, restocking supplies, maintaining equipment, cleaning
- Answer, screen and forward incoming phone calls and emails; check voicemail
- Helping with practice social media (Facebook) page
- Depending on experience, assisting with other office management tasks
- Depending on experience and interest, there may be opportunity to assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians with procedures including intradermal allergy testing (IDAT), IV catheters, blood draws, assist with patient monitoring and recovery, prepare allergy vaccines, and thoroughly discharge clients and demonstrate how to administer treatments including injections. Possibly assist with other procedures including skin biopsies, deep/middle video-otoscopic ear flushes, CO2 laser surgeries, and anesthesia induction/monitoring/recovery. Assist with examination and treatment of our fish patients
