Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for animal care and possess the necessary skills to assist veterinarians in providing high-quality medical care to our patients. This role requires a blend of technical knowledge, hands-on experience, and a commitment to ensuring the well-being of animals.
Duties
- Assist veterinarians during examinations and surgical procedures.
- Perform routine laboratory tests and analyze results.
- Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed by the veterinarian.
- Monitor animal vital signs and provide critical care when necessary.
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation for each patient.
- Handle and restrain animals safely during examinations and procedures.
- Provide education to pet owners regarding animal care, nutrition, and preventive health measures.
- Ensure cleanliness and organization of the clinic, including sterilization of instruments using aseptic techniques.
- Participate in dental cleanings and understand dental terminology relevant to veterinary practices.
- Support kennel operations by caring for hospitalized animals, including feeding, grooming, and exercising them.
Qualifications
- Previous veterinary technician experience is preferred; however, candidates with relevant animal handling or kennel experience will be considered.
- Knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal anatomy, physiology, and husbandry practices is essential.
- Experience with laboratory procedures, including blood draws and urinalysis.
- Familiarity with veterinary critical care protocols is a plus.
- Ability to perform animal catheterization and restraint techniques effectively.
- Experience with equine care or dog training is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with pet owners and team members.

Pay: $22.06 - $28.00 per hour
