\r\n\r\nJob Description\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\n The Opportunity:\r\n\r\nAs a key leader on the FSQA team, the FSQA Supervisor is responsible for ensuring the Quality Assurance and Food Safety programs and protocols are executed effectively at the facility. By leading in a values aligned fashion, the Supervisor plays a critical role in creating and maintaining a service-oriented team built on the foundations of Food Safety.\r\n \r\n\r\nAny MLF team member interested in being considered for this role are encouraged to apply online by August 21. Applications received beyond that date are not guaranteed consideration.\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nSnapshot of a Day-in-the-Life:\r\n\r\n\r\n\tMaintain, update and ensure consistent execution of QA programs to align with internal and external requirements.\r\n\tSupervise a staff of QA Technicians and QA Coordinators ensuring that tasks are conducted consistently, efficiently and aligned with the needs of the business.\r\n\tPlan QA staffing requirements according to production demands.\r\n\tAssist with HACCP and MLF Food Safety and Quality program updates, maintenance and verifications.\r\n\tAssist with analysis of data to determine root cause of deficiencies and provide feedback on performance and necessary improvements.\r\n\tAssist with third party audits (CFIA, BRC, and customer) and prepare/coach cross functional managers before and during these audits. \r\n\tParticipate in cross functional SOP development and ensure that facility SOPs and related documents are in correct format, properly stored and distributed as per manufacturing excellence requirements.\r\n\tConducting monthly GMP, internal and external audits with cross-functional team and identifying opportunities for improvement.\r\n\tInvestigate and respond to customer and consumer complaints. Implement corrective and preventative actions when required.\r\n\tLead cross functional teams completing incident investigations where food safety or food quality may be compromised.\r\n\tTake lead on traceability and recalls exercises/ events if required.\r\n\tAdvancing an attitude of continuous process improvement and training of employees at hourly and salary levels.\r\n\tTake lead on execution of various initiatives to improve the quality and safety of our products.\r\n\tSupport and/or lead change management activities related to processes, programs and/or systems.\r\n\tSupport FSQA team as required (back-up for various roles, etc).\r\n\tProvide clear and concise communication on QA related items to the facility’s cross-functional departments on a daily basis.\r\n\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nWhat You’ll Bring:\r\n\r\n\r\n\tUniversity degree or college diploma preferably in Chemistry, Microbiology, Food Science or a related discipline.\r\n\t3 to 5 years food related experience in areas of GMP and HACCP principles and programs.\r\n\tMust have in-depth HACCP experience including; program development; implementation of programs and auditing of the program.\r\n\tProven ability to lead and coach.\r\n\tSuperior communication skills.\r\n\tDetail oriented with strong organizational and presentation skills.\r\n\tStrong systems skills (including MS Office).\r\n\tDemonstrated alignment to the Maple Leaf Leadership Values.\r\n\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nWhat We Offer at Maple Leaf Foods:\r\n\r\n\r\n\tBeing part of a high-performance, people-focused company that has an inspiring and unique vision to become the most sustainable protein company on earth, and a deep commitment to sustainable protein across North America.\r\n\tAn inclusive company culture and a work environment that keeps our people safe, rewards excellence, and empowers everyone to learn and contribute their best.\r\n\tCompetitive Health and Wellness benefits that offer flexibility to meet your individual or family needs, including programs focused on improving mental health and wellbeing.
