Steeples Veterinary Clinic is an independently owned mixed-animal practice that has proudly served Cranbrook and the East Kootenays since 1978. Our long-standing reputation is built on compassionate care, community involvement, and a collaborative, supportive team environment. We are a busy, modern practice with a recently renovated facility and a strong focus on both medical excellence and work-life balance.
Our clinic has a diverse caseload that includes small animals, equine, bovine, other farm or exotic animals. The closest 24-hour emergency hospital is four hours away, so we see an interesting range of cases and provide a wide scope of in-clinic care.
The Opportunity
We are seeking a Veterinarian to join our team for a 6-month maternity leave position starting February 2026, with the potential to transition into a permanent full-time role. This position offers a unique opportunity to work within an experienced and supportive team of veterinarians and technicians who share knowledge freely and value a positive, inclusive culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality medical, surgical, and preventive care to companion animals (and large animal or equine cases if interested)
- Communicate clearly and compassionately with clients to build trust and ensure the best outcomes for their pets
- Collaborate with fellow veterinarians, RVTs, and support staff in a respectful, team-oriented environment
- Maintain accurate medical records and uphold clinic standards of care
- Participate in rotating after-hours emergency coverage shared among local clinics

Qualifications
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM or equivalent) and eligibility for licensure in British Columbia
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Commitment to providing compassionate, client-focused care
- Mixed-animal experience or interest considered an asset, but not required
Job Types: Full-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 6 months
Pay: $100,000.00-$110,000.00 per year
