Role Overview
Title: Shift Maintenance Technician – Industrial Millwright Mechanic
Location: Royal Canin, Guelph, ON
Shift: 12-hour continental rotation (days & nights)
Pay: $45–$50/hr + OT opportunities
Bonus: 5% annual target bonus (based on company performance)
Sign-on Bonus: $3,000 ($1,500 at 3 months + $1,500 at 6 months)
Tools: Provided by employer (no need to bring your own)
About the Work
You’ll be maintaining and troubleshooting automated pet food production and packaging equipment. The environment is clean, food-safe, and focused on reliability and continuous improvement.
Key tasks include:
Performing preventive & predictive maintenance (PM/PDM)
Troubleshooting mechanical, pneumatic, and basic electrical issues
Using CMMS (eMaint) to record maintenance activities
Supporting continuous improvement and root cause analysis (RCA) projects
Occasional fabrication and welding (ARC, TIG, MIG)
Supporting operators with basic troubleshooting and setup coaching
Technical Requirements
Valid 433A Industrial Millwright license (mandatory)
At least 2 years’ experience in a high-speed automated environment (food, beverage, pharma, or packaging preferred)
Strong mechanical troubleshooting background
Basic electrical knowledge (sensors, limit switches, cables, photo eyes)
Familiar with HACCP, GMP, and food safety requirements
Comfortable using Microsoft Office & CMMS
