As the dealership continues to grow, we are seeking a Sales Manager to lead our Power Equipment “Yellow Team”- serving homeowners, landscapers, municipalities, and light construction professionals. This person will drive profitability, strengthen customer relationships, and build a high-performing sales culture aligned with Wellington’s mission: Creating Solutions for Success. This person can be located at any of our three locations in Ashland, Wellington, or Medina, OH.
Key Accountabilities
Team Leadership & Development
- Build, coach, and retain a strong sales team focused on outdoor power, compact utility, and light construction equipment.
- Foster a culture grounded in Wellington’s core values - Exceptional Communication, Dedication, Selfless Leadership, and Compassion.
- Mentor and develop sales professionals through training, goal setting, and consistent performance feedback.
Financial Performance
- Achieve sales, margin, and budget goals for the Yellow Team.
- Protect dealership profitability through sound trade valuations, financing structures, and inventory management.
- Develop creative sales plans and off-season strategies to sustain consistent results throughout the year.
Market & Customer Growth
- Expand Wellington’s presence among landscapers, contractors, and property owners.
- Ensure the team delivers measurable ROI to customers - helping them improve productivity, efficiency, and profitability.
- Represent Wellington Implement as the trusted partner for outdoor power and light construction equipment needs.
Inventory & Vendor Management
- Partner with the Inventory Manager to maintain the right mix and age of equipment inventory for each season.
- Strengthen manufacturer and vendor relationships to secure the best programs, products, and promotions.
- Collaborate with marketing to promote used and aging equipment effectively.
Cross-Team Collaboration
- Work closely with service, parts, accounting, and marketing to deliver the Ultimate Equipment Experience.
- Coordinate open houses, demos, and community events that showcase Wellington’s products, services, and team expertise.
Responsibilities
- Lead by example in the field - travel with reps, build customer relationships, and close key deals.
- Coach sales reps on prospecting, consultative selling, and deal structuring.
- Analyze sales and inventory data monthly to adjust plans and targets.
- Support inside sales coverage during peak season (March–June).
- Participate in hiring, onboarding, and reviews to ensure a high-performing, motivated team.
- Represent Wellington Implement at trade shows, events, and customer functions.
