Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in animal care and handling, with experience in veterinary practices. As a Veterinary Technician, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality care to our patients, assisting veterinarians in various procedures, and ensuring the overall well-being of the animals in our facility. We are a privately owned practice caring for dogs and cats only. We are looking for a fun, engaged and motivated individual who enjoys working with people and the pets they love. Our technicians see their own appointments.

Responsibilities

Assist veterinarians during examinations and surgical procedures
Perform laboratory tests and diagnostic imaging, including X-rays
Administer medications and vaccinations as prescribed
Provide proper animal restraint and catheterization techniques
Maintain accurate medical records and documentation
Educate pet owners on animal care, nutrition, and training
Ensure cleanliness and organization of the clinic, adhering to aseptic techniques
Monitor animal vital signs and behavior during treatments
Handle dogs and other animals with care, ensuring their comfort and safety

Qualifications

MUST BE A CERTIFIED VETERINARY TECHNICIAN TO APPLY.
Knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal anatomy, and physiology
Familiarity with dental terminology related to animal care
Experience in veterinary critical care or laboratory settings is a plus
Understanding of animal husbandry practices and dog handling techniques
Equine experience is beneficial for certain positions within our practice
Strong communication skills for effective interaction with pet owners and team members
Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.00 - $27.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 – 38 per week
