Job Title: Feedlot General Manager

Position Overview:
The
Feedlot General Manager (FGM) provides executive leadership and strategic oversight for all feedlot operations within
Niewohner Brothers Entities. In partnership with the
President of Agriculture and
CEO, the FGM is responsible for the success, profitability, and long-term sustainability of the Feedlot Division.
This position ensures operational excellence, regulatory compliance, team development, and alignment with the organization’s mission, vision, and values. The FGM represents the feedlots within the agricultural community, promoting efficiency, safety, and innovation across all locations.

At Niewohner Entities, we value collaboration throughout industries. We operate in multiple areas and growing! Delbert & Marilee Niewohner started their farm and cattle operation near Albion, Nebraska. Along with their four sons, they have expanded this operation to include farming around 15,000 acres, growing mostly corn, operating three feedlots, feeding around 75,000 head of cattle, raising farrow to finish confinement with about 18,000 swine, and manufacturing the Batch Box, SiDump’r, and Beaver Bearings. We are proud to be three generations strong and carrying on the family tradition of caring for animals and land.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily feedlot operations, ensuring smooth, efficient, and high-quality performance across all sites.
- Ensure full compliance with all legal, environmental, animal welfare, and safety regulations.
- Collaborate with executive leadership to define and implement mission, values, and strategic goals.
- Develop and enforce operational standards, systems, and performance metrics that drive continuous improvement.
- Maintain a safe, respectful, and productive work environment while recruiting, training, and retaining skilled staff.
- Conduct performance evaluations and hold management accountable for results.
- Manage fiscal operations including budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and auditing to ensure profitability and sustainability.
- Oversee P&L performance and approve expenditures in line with company policy.
- Build and maintain relationships with vendors, community leaders, regulators, and industry partners.
- Represent Niewohner Brothers Entities at community and industry events, advocating for animal welfare, sustainability, and innovation.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 10 years of senior management experience , preferably in feedlot or large-scale livestock operations.
- Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science, Agribusiness, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
- Proven record of success in operational leadership, financial management, and team development.
- Strong knowledge of:
- Feedlot management, animal nutrition, and health protocols
- Environmental and safety regulations
- Financial reporting, budgeting, and business analysis
- Human resource management and organizational development
- Exceptional communication, leadership, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to build and maintain productive relationships across all levels of the organization and community.
