Aga Khan University invites applications for the position of Associate in the Research Office.
Responsibilities:
You will be responsible to:
- Review grant agreements at the award and post award stage for extramural compliance requirements and map them to existing policies and procedures.
- Perform the designated Financial Conflict of Interest (FCOI) Officer role and guide investigators and other stakeholders on FCOI regulations, policies, and procedures. And ensure compliance for the timely submission.
- Provide support to establish a monitoring and evaluation system for research activities.
- Conduct spot checks on grant activities to ensure compliance with the agency’s requirements, including ethical monitoring.
- Support in providing assurance reports with results on grant compliance management activity.
- Follow up on the implementation of recommendations and maintain updated tracking records.
- Visit field offices to ensure compliance with the necessary policies and procedures.
- Assists colleagues by providing backup support when needed, contributing to a smooth and consistent team operation.
- Any other task assigned by the immediate supervisor.
- Assist in updating a compliance oversight structure within the Research Office.
- Assist in the preparation and submission of monthly reports and review reports.
- Assist in preparing all institutional reports and their timeliness for submission.
Requirements:
You should have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance/Audit/Public Health or other relevant field.
- 2 years of post-qualification experience in research administration, regulatory compliance, or a related field
- Experience should include familiarity with agencies' requirements, ethical standards, and institutional compliance processes—such as human subjects protection (IRB), animal care and use (IACUC), research integrity, or conflict of interest management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Word and Excel.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills to interpret and apply complex regulations.
