Our husbandry team requires an aquaculture attendant with an outstanding work ethic and desire to develop their knowledge and aquaculture skills across all production areas; hatchery, nursery, and growout.
A willingness to learn is essential.
Key Duties include
Execute tasks as communicated by management staff.
- Monitor and assess animal health at different stages of the Bay Lobster life cycle.
- Undertake preventative and reactive maintenance of animals, including; inspecting, feeding, transferring, treating.
- General upkeep of tanks and production areas, including; cleaning tanks, routine maintenance of aquaculture systems, equipment, and areas.
- Make observations of animal and system health, research, collect and collate data and information, liaise with and report to – colleagues and senior staff.
- Follow policies, procedures and Workplace Health and Safety guidelines.

- Displays a willingness to learn & expand knowledge about all facets of husbandry.
- Identifies problems, gather and analyse information and data skilfully, develop alternative solutions, and collaborate in problem solving situations.
The Role
Full-time position – Able to work a minimum of 38 hours per week
- Must be available to work some nightshifts, weekends and public holidays
- Probationary period
- Have a construction White Card (or equivalent), or willing to acquire one.
- Current drivers’ licence
- Australian resident or have the right to work full time in Australia
- ABLP has a zero tolerance to drug and alcohol use. You may be subjected to a medical including drug and alcohol testing pre/post-employment
Working Environment
Whilst performing the duties of this position the employee is regularly exposed to warm temperatures (ranging between 25-30°C) and high humidity. Most work is performed in the dark. Torches and working at heights is required.
